In Memory of Brian R. Severson

June 28, 1966 - May 1, 2024

Brian Richard Severson, 57, of Arland, passed away on May 1st, 2024. He was born on June 28th, 1966, to Richard and Linda (Aaen) Severson in Barron.

Brian married his former wife, Julie (Anderson) Severson, of Dallas, in October 1988, with whom he had three children; Joshua (Heather) Severson of Lonsdale, MN, Ethan (Hannah) Severson of Fitchburg, and Ariana (Taylor) Wittmer of Rice Lake.

Brian enjoyed deer hunting, camping and spending time with friends and family. Brian was a loving father and grandpa to his three children and two grandchildren, and cared deeply for those he interacted with.

While he enjoyed hunting and was a sharpshooter at a target, he was often described as “couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn” if a deer was running. But nonetheless, he tended to be lucky as most deer leisurely strolled past him in the stand, most notably shooting an 11 point buck. He may not have been organized and planned for the deer hunting opener until 9 pm the night before, but you could always count on him making a delicious breakfast on Sunday morning and his famous taco dip when a Packer’s game was on. You could always pick out his truck because he couldn’t just have a stock one, there had to be plenty of aftermarket chrome and lights to make it shine!

Brian is survived by his parents; brother, Scott (Leandra) Severson; his three children; two grandchildren, Oliver and Patrick Severson; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends; and special friend, Sherrie Effertz.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9th, at the First Lutheran Church of Arland, with Rev. Tim Vettrus officiating and interment following at Independent Cemetery, Town of Arland. A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8th, at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron and one hour prior to services at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
