Authorities: Suspect in Custody After Fleeing into Woods Near Luck, WI

Press Release - On Friday 2-17-17 at 3:04pm, a Polk County Deputy on patrol observed a vehicle on Co. E at Hwy 48 east of Luck. The Deputy recognized the vehicle had been reported as stolen out of Oakdale MN. The Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver immediately fled from the Deputy. The pursuit continued for several minutes and concluded when the suspect and vehicle entered a dead end at 50th st north of 270th ave. The suspect vehicle slid off the road into a snowbank where it became stuck. The Driver fled on foot northwest into a wooded area. Responding units, including assistance from the Barron Co Sheriff’s office set up a perimeter around the last known location of the suspect. A concerned citizen notified dispatch that the male suspect just came running from the wooded area across their property and onto the deck at the residence. The residence is approximately a half mile away from the end of the pursuit. Polk and Barron Deputies immediately responded and took the suspect into custody.

The arrestee was identified as Terrell Buechner of Crystal Minnesota. Buechner was transported to the Polk Co. Jail and charged with Knowing Fleeing an Officer, Operating a Vehicle without Owner’s Consent, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Marijuana. Buechner had outstanding warrants for his arrest from Burnett Co.

Polk Co Sheriff’s office would like to thank the Barron County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance along with the concerned citizens who reported the location of the suspect.
