May 19 & 20 is the Grand Opening of the New 3C Auction Site in Spooner

SPOONER, Wis. -- “I’m not crazy about the actual auction,” says Jared Kidder, “I prefer going through the estates to see what they have, especially those surprise pieces you never expect to find. "However, my passion is still auctioning and I cannot wait for our grand-opening."

These are strange words for Shell Lake’s Jared Kidder, now that he’s bought the Pattimacc Auction Service and will be having the Grand Opening of his newly purchased buildings in Spooner with four auctions in two days at the new site with the help of auctioneer Dave Bontrager, who has over 13 years of experience. One of the two buildings he bought hosted a variant of restaurants in its long history, and it was a fire that damaged the house right next door, leaving the two buildings, which sold as a package, vacant for several years.

After he purchased the buildings and cleaned them both out, he painted the walls and fixed the floors, removing all the damaged carpeting. Now he has a clean, dry place to store the items that he will put up for auction; every square inch of the main floors and basements of the house and the restaurant are filling fast with all sorts of treasures.

On Friday, May 19 and then again on Saturday, May 20 at his new location on highway 253 next to North Crossing Foods and the State Patrol Headquarters, the first action on Friday will start at 9:00 am and run until 3:00 pm.

This first one will feature coins, two dozen brand new shirts still in their original packaging,  jewelry, dishes, furniture, new carpet rolls, tools, fishing gear, lamps, antiques, and items” too numerous to mention”. That phrase isn’t just the one that’s always used in the world of auctions since Jared has recently obtained 14 estates, which equaled 30 trailers full of product, a number of items are truly too numerous to mention. There is also a vast collection of guns and they will be featured heavily throughout each auction.

The second auction on Friday will start at 5:00 pm and it will consist of packaged food products including frozen meats of all sorts.

Saturday’s auction will begin at 9:00 am with a vast variety of items, and then at 1:00 pm it becomes a ladies special auction until 3:00 pm.

Saturday’s auction will feature free toys for boys under 10 and a free doll for each girl under 10.

All weekend there will be a large tent on the grounds with a bounce house and free cotton candy.  All of the auction items are commission sales.

Jared’s supply of boats, jet skis and even a dock is growing and they will be on display outside for inspection.

Eventually, there will be a chain-lined fence around the large parking lot and buildings and every Friday night there will be another auction until August. He has other auctions on the books that will take place at individual farms and homes and so far Jared has 21 auctions to do before the fall.

That doesn’t mean he’s booked solid. You can always check at 3CAuctions.com to see if he has any room for yours.

Either way, don’t miss his first grand-slam weekend, May 19 and 20.

If you just can’t wait to see more items than you can count, stop in their store in Shell Lake on Fifth Avenue where Jared’s wife, Em, is the co-owner and store manager.

The store is full of things you need and lots of stuff you never even knew existed and if they don’t have it, they will, and probably by your next visit.
