Summer Road Construction for County & State Roads in Washburn Co.

Summer Road Construction for County & State Roads in Washburn Co.

An old saying we have two seasons, winter and road construction, well the road construction season is starting early this year. Several county roads and state highways will be worked on by Washburn County Highway crews and state contractors during the summer and early fall.

Everyone please drive carefully through construction zones, you see an orange cone/barricades/pylons or signs indicating a construction zone, please hang up your phone. It is against the law to drive through a marked construction zone while on the phone. Plus and more importantly construction crews would like to go home at the end of their day. I cannot imagine having to live with yourself if you struck and killed a worker.

The roads listed below are the county and state roads construction that I know of, however, I am not aware or sure of any town/city road construction, I am sure there will be. The timeline of these road repairs is spread out through this construction season all summer and early fall, just be cautious.

  • County Road E west from County K to Island Lake Road. Culverts and paving.
  • County Road E east from County M to just about Peters Road, putting on the second lift of pavement on last years first lift.
  • County Road E east from Peters Road to Town Hall Road. Culverts and paving.
  • County P north from County D to County B, milling and repaving.
  • County G north from Hwy 77 to Douglas county line.
  • State Highway 63 from Shell Lake to Spooner, repaving.
  • State Highway 53 both north bound lanes from Whalen Lake Road to Transfer Station Road.

Drive safe, hang up the phone. Be very careful in construction zones and please slow down.
