SPOONER, Wis. -- The Spooner Middle School has partnered with the Spooner Police Department to provide character education programming called "The Right Track" to our 6th-grade students.
Students spent 6 weeks learning about positive and negative influences, consequences of both positive and negative choices, drugs and alcohol prevention and awareness, violence prevention and safety, bullying, and healthy alternative choices. Students engaged in discussion with SMS staff and Spooner Police Department about each topic and brought home weekly reflection work to review with parents or guardians.
It's important that we teach our students to be successful in the classroom and community. Partnership with Spooner Police Department and the parents or guardians of our students helped to make that possible.
We celebrated student's completion of the unit with a graduation ceremony held at Spooner Middle School on May 5.
