Vehicle Breaks Through Ice on Bear Lake

A vehicle fell through the ice on Bear Lake in Haugen, Wisconsin, today, Monday, Jan. 23, 2017.

Reportedly, the female driver of the vehicle advised Washburn County Sheriff's Deputies that she was on the lake with friends. When she attempted to leave the lake, she could not locate the landing due to the fog. Her vehicle then broke through the ice and became partially submerged in the water.

Washburn County Sheriff Terry Dryden confirmed to DrydenWire.com that the Washburn County Sheriff's Office was handling the situation, and no one was injured in the incident.Dryden also warned the public stating, “Please be extra careful when driving on any lakes during this warming trend.”
