14-Year-Old Driver Seriously Injured in 1 Vehicle Crash Near Clear Lake

On Friday, April 7, 2017, at approximately 6:00 p.m. a crash occurred on County Highway A at 95th Street in Polk County near Clear Lake, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper responded to a one vehicle crash with entrapment. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on County Highway A, west of 95th street when the driver lost control of the vehicle where it entered the ditch and overturned. The driver, a 14-year-old who was the lone occupant, was not wearing their seat belt. Deer Park Fire Department responded to the scene and the driver had to be extricated from the front passenger seat. The driver sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The subject was transported by ambulance to the Amery Hospital and then flown to Regions Hospital.

Assisting agencies included Polk County Sheriff’s Department, Amery EMS, and Deer Park fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
