On 07/30/18 at about 5:45 pm, the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call reporting an ATV crash that occurred on Bumblebee Road in the Town of Winter. Sawyer County Deputies responded to the scene, assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol and Sawyer County Paramedic/EMTs.
Upon arrival, the 15-year-old male operator of the ATV was located. The operator was treated by EMS personnel at the scene and after complaining of pain was transported to the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital by Sawyer County Ambulance.
The male operator had been travelling on Bumblebee Road at an estimated speed of 25-30 mph, lost control of the ATV while trying to negotiate a sharp curve causing the ATV to roll over. The male operator was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The name of the 15-year-old male operator is not being released.
There is no further information regarding this incident at this time.
