16 Apply for Spooner Area School District Superintendent

The deadline has come and gone this week for those wishing to submit their applications to be the next Superintendent for the Spooner Area School District (SASD).

DrydenWire.com has confirmed that 16 people have applied for the position.

The SASD Board of Education (BOE) is working with a consultant from the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, Guy Leavitt, in regards to the Superintendent search process.

On Monday, February 13th, Leavitt will be working with the BOE to review the applicants and to narrow the field down to six candidates”, said current interim SASD superintendent, John Burnett, in an email correspondence with DrydenWire yesterday. “Those 6 candidates will go through preliminary interviews on February 27th and 28th.”

The names of the 16 candidates are not being released, but Burnett says that when the field narrows to 6, their names may be released at that time.

After the interviews on February 27th and 28th, “The field of candidates will be narrowed down to 3 individuals who will go through the final round of interviews on March 13th”, Burnett added.

During the interviews on March 13th, there will also be a forum in which members of the community will have a chance to meet and ask questions of the final candidates.

Note: Dates listed are tentative and subject to change.
