Washburn County Sheriff Dispatch received a 911 call, this afternoon, about a multiple vehicle accident at Hwy 53 and 77. Minong Police, Minong Fire, and Ambulance along with Washburn County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene.
It appears that the small SUV was crossing Hwy 53 and failed to yield to southbound traffic. Two pick-up trucks with one pulling a trailer with a ditch witch on board were southbound and were involved in the crash.
The two elderly occupants from Minong, in the small brown vehicle, were transported to Spooner Hospital and then flown out to the cities via medical helicopter with very serious injuries. Their current condition is not known. The family has been notified. We offer prayers for family and for their recovery.
