I’m Rufus, an eight-year-old fellow, who’s easy-going and mellow;
Plott Hound & Labrador mix, I’m now in a steamy hot fix!
Although I like to romp and play, not on such a warm, muggy day;
I hope for a breeze through the open door, as I lie here with my belly
on the cool cement floor;
I need to find a new home soon, of that I have no doubt,
So my picture’s in the paper with my big tongue hanging out!
Come here and adopt me, but then, make no mistake, I want to run and
jump into a nice cold pool or lake!
