The 2019 Dion Snowshoes U.S National Snowshoe Championships are coming to Cable Wisconsin March 9-11th. Previous host sites include the 2018 Championships in Woodford, Vermont, Bend Oregon in 2017 and Ogden Utah in 2016. The two-day competition includes the Junior National Championship 5 K race plus the 10K National Championship races in Senior, Military, Men and Women’s division on Saturday March 9th. Sunday features the men and women’s Snowshoe Marathon and Half-Marathon National Championship events along with the always popular team relay event.

Lakewoods Resort, host site for the National Championships has created a race course that is sure to challenge this year’s competitors. The course is carved out on their Forest Ridges golf course and includes several stunning views but also includes over 300 feet of vertical climbing.

P.C Rasmussen, Chief of Competition for the 2019 Dion Snowshoes U.S National Snowshoe Championships says they have created and maintained the course throughout the entire winter season which has delivered record snowfall to Northern Wisconsin. “We have been out there grooming the courses and making sure that everything is as perfect as can be for the competitors in this year’s championships. This is going to be a great event, we are ready!”, says Rasmussen.

The 2019 Dion Snowshoes U.S National Snowshoe Championships officially begin at Lakewoods Resort at 9:15 A.M.  Saturday March 9th with the Junior 5K races for both men and women.
