BIRCHWOOD, WI -- A single-vehicle crash in Washburn County has resulted in the death of the driver, according to a press release from the Washburn County Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 8:11 p.m. Washburn County Sheriff’s dispatch received a report of a one-vehicle accident on County Highway D in Birchwood Township.
The first responding deputy arrived at 8:17 p.m. and located a lone male occupant that had been ejected from the vehicle.
The deputy assessed the injuries of the ejected male and attempted life-saving measures, but determined the male had succumbed to his injuries on scene.
Responding agencies include the Birchwood Fire Department, Birchwood Ambulance Service, Life Link Helicopter, and the Washburn County Coroner’s Office.
This incident is still under investigation by the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office and the Washburn County Coroner’s Office.
