1- I can juggle and ride a unicycle. Not at the same time. When I was a kid I owned a unicycle and rode all over town. My uncle taught me how to juggle.
2- My favorite beer is Hopslam by Bells Brewery. 2nd favorite beer is Surly Furious. My 22nd favorite beer is Bud Light.
3- When I was a kid I caddied each summer at Golden Valley Country Club. I caddied for Kevin Mchale, Aaron Broten, Pat Miles and a blind guy. For real.
4- My favorite fast food or chain restaurant is Chipotle. I'd eat there every day if I could.
5- My second favorite food is Chinese food. My wife and I just celebrated 20 years of marriage and I recently took her back to our first date location in River Falls, Wisconsin called the song garden...Chinese of course.
6- I played junior hockey in Waterloo, Iowa for two years. Many of the guys that I played with went on to play Division I and professional hockey.
7- I played four years of college hockey at UW/Riverfalls. In 1994 we won the division three national championship title.
8- I can skate backward on roller skates. My best friend in grade schools family owned Roller Gardens in St. Louis Park, MN and I had unlimited access to skate.
9- I can knee board, water ski and love being out on the water. Bass fishing is a fun pastime but I spend more time pulling my kid's tubing, skiing etc.
10- I play golf every Thursday at 1:45. I've played with the same guys for around 10 years
11- I like deer hunting but am not the best shot. 2 years in a row I shot a deer in the foot. Not on purpose. No joke.
12- I once swam the full length of the pond on the #18 hole at turtleback golf course in Rice Lake. Long story (See #2).
13- Every Friday at 7:46 I get a phone call from John Roberts (JR from 96.1 WJMC. I'm the "Scoop from Spooner" listen in some time).
14- My dad (Richard Arf) was offered a tryout with the Chicago Blackhawks when he was 21. He declined the chance thanks to my sister! He was one of 6 brothers and was the best of all the brothers.
15- I run a home furnishings store with my wife Leslie but I'm also the Executive Director of the Spooner Area Chamber of Commerce.
16- My favorite song of all time is Love Song by Tesla. My wife's favorite song is Beth by Kiss. I am also a fan of Michael Jackson, Journey, Toto, Jack Johnson, John Conley, Counting Crows, and all country music. And I am also a Belieber.
17- My favorite athlete in any sport is Roger Federer. Odd as i don't play tennis but he is not only an all time great but he's also a class act.
18- My favorite hockey player is Pavel Datsyuk. He's a Russian who played many years for the Detroit Red Wings.
19- The only hockey record I hold in college is the most games played all time. 132 straight. It's my proudest record as its one that can't be beaten as our teams made it to the final 4 each year so it's virtually impossible to beat. Says a lot about how great our teams were.
20- My favorite tv shows are This Is Us, Greys Anatomy and all the Chicago shows. My favorite shows as a kid were Scooby Doo and the Dukes of Hazzard.
21- My wife and kids are why I do what I Do and mean everything to me. I've got a motto in life that surrounds balancing family, friends, leisure, work, faith and everything else. Gotta take everything life sends your way and be able to respond with grace and a good attitude. Life is not what happens to you it's how you react to it. Peace.
