SAWYER COUNTY -- A criminal complaint has been filed in Sawyer County Circuit Court charging 38-year-old Kent (Kenneth) Joki with Class B Felony 1st Degree Child Sexual Assault - Sexual Contact With a Child Under Age 13. The Court has also placed Joki on a cash bond of $25,000.

Charges were filed against Joki after Sawer County authorities investigated allegations that Joki sexually assaulted a child.

On January 14, 2020, a Sawyer County Child Protective Services worker advised the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department that information had been received alleging that Joki had sexually assaulted a child on January 13, 2020. A forensic interview was conducted with the child victim. The criminal complaint filed against Joki lists details too graphic to include here.

An arrest warrant was issued for Joki on March 3, 2020 and according to online circuit court records Joki appeared in court while in the custody of the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office on March 6, 2020.

Online circuit court records also show that on March 9, 2020, Joki appeared for a bail bond hearing and the Court placed him on a $25,000 cash bond.

Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
