SAWYER COUNTY -- A 31-year-old was discovered deceased after a 911 call reporting an ATV crash in the Town of Edgewater, according to a press release from the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office.
(Press Release) -- On 07/14/18 at 06:20 a.m., the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting an ATV crash that occurred on Maple Terrace Drive in the Town of Edgewater in Sawyer County. The 911 caller reported that it appeared the operator of the ATV was deceased. A Sawyer County Deputy, a WI DNR Warden and the Birchwood Ambulance/EMTs responded to the scene.
Birchwood Ambulance arrived first at the scene and advised that the male operator of the ATV was deceased. The male operator of the ATV was not wearing a helmet. There were no known witnesses to the crash. It is believed the crash occurred a few hours prior to being reported to the Sheriff’s Office.
The deceased male has been identified as 31-year-old John P. Marshall of Onalaska, WI.
The Wisconsin DNR is investigating the crash.
There is no further information available at this time.
