5th Person Sentenced In Amery Drug Bust Case

POLK COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced the fifth person from a couple of individuals who were each charged criminally following a drug bust that occurred in April 2019 in Amery, WI.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant in April 2019 at a residence in Amery, WI, and located over 30 items of methamphetamine drug paraphernalia and over 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine as well as a small amount of marijuana. Items of drug paraphernalia that were tested returned positive results for methamphetamine.

DrydenWire.com reported on May 2, 2019, that charges had been filed against 5 individuals who were arrested as a result of the search warrant (criminal charges were not located in online circuit court records for a 6th individual arrested following the search warrant, so no information is included here regarding that individual).

Michael Carpenter, of Hutchinson, MN was charged with Class I Felony Maintain Drug Trafficking Place; Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine; and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia.

At a recent hearing, the Court accepted a 2-year deferred judgment of conviction agreement for Carpenter on his charge of Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine. The Court also sentenced Carpenter to 1 year of probation for charges of Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia and Misdemeanor Possession of Amphetamine (reduced from his original charge of Class I Felony Maintain Drug Trafficking Place).

Conditions of probation will require Carpenter to pay fines of nearly $500 and complete an Alcohol and Other Drug Assessment, following through with all recommendations.

Jeremy Stoklasa, of Frederic, WI, was charged with Class I Felony Maintain Drug Trafficking Place; Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine; and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia.

Online circuit court records show that at a hearing in July 2020, the Court sentenced Stoklasa on a conviction for Class I Felony Maintain Drug Trafficking Place. The remaining charges were dismissed but read in. Stoklasa was sentenced to 3 years of probation with 1 year of conditional jail time.

Conditions of Stoklasa’s probation will require him to complete an Alcohol and Other Drug Assessment, maintain sobriety, and maintain employment.

Pamela Huffman, of St. Paul, MN was charged with Class I Felony Maintain Drug Trafficking Place; Class I Felony Possess Methamphetamine; and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia.

The Court sentenced Huffman at a hearing in June 2020 on a conviction of Class I Felony Possess Methamphetamine. Her remaining charges were dismissed but read in according to online circuit court records. Huffman was sentenced to 2 years of probation with 6 months of conditional jail time.

Nancyleigh Kane (city of residence not listed) was charged with Class I Felony Possess Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia.

Online circuit court records show that her charges were dismissed at a hearing in November 2019; details were not listed as to the reason for dismissal.

Jasmine Marcyan, of Amery, WI, was charged with Class I Felony Maintain Drug Trafficking Place; Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine; Class H Felony Bail Jumping and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia.

At a hearing in September 2019, her charges were dismissed and read in along with the disposition of another case filed against her in Polk County for which she received a withheld sentence; 1 year of probation on convictions for Misdemeanor Possession of THC (Marijuana) and Misdemeanor Possession of Amphetamine.
