871 Grams of Processed Marijuana Seized Following Search Warrant in Sawyer Co.

On March 15, 2018, Sawyer County Deputies, City of Phillips Drug Investigator, and Wisconsin DOJ Division of Criminal Investigation Agent executed a search warrant at a residence located on Tower Road in the Town of Winter. The Search warrant was obtained after an investigation by the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office, the Phillips Police Department and DCI into alleged drug trafficking from the residence.

As a result of the investigation and execution of the search warrant, one adult male was taken into custody. Charles R. Howe, ages 56 was arrested on charges of Manufacture / Deliver Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

During the execution of the search warrant, 871 grams of processed marijuana was recovered along with 8 plants which were recently cut from the stock and drying. Multiple items of drug paraphernalia and various items for growing plants indoors were also recovered.

The Sawyer County Sheriff's Office, the Phillips Police Department, the Wisconsin DOJ Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Sawyer County District Attorney's Office continue our combined efforts in our mission to protect the citizens of Sawyer County.
