POLK COUNTY -- Nine people have been either booked or detained following reports of shots fired in St. Croix Falls early this morning.

According to a press release from the Saint Croix Falls Police Department, on December 20, 2021, at 1:23a, the St. Croix Falls Police responded to several calls of shots fired in the 500 block of North Washington Street.

Upon officers’ arrival, occupants of the residence refused commands to exit the home. Officers established a perimeter and attempted to communicate with the occupants of the home. At 4:30a, the last person did leave the residence.

A total of nine persons were detained or booked, according to the St. Croix Falls Police Department.

No one was injured and there is no threat to the community.

Authorities are continuing to look into this situation and state that the investigation is ongoing.

Assisting the SCFPD was Osceola PD, the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Lakes Area PD the Chisago County Sheriff's Office along with St. Croix Valley EMS.
