Adam Jarchow Presents Ella Waterworth with a Citation by the Legislature

ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis. -- Wisconsin State Representative Adam Jarchow presents Ella Waterworth with a Citation by the Wisconsin state Legislature.

Ella Waterworth was chosen by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Wisconsin to represent her state as the 2017 Teen Advocate for Cystic Fibrosis. She traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with Wisconsin's Congressional Representatives and staffers to advocate on behalf of the over 30,000 individuals living with Cystic Fibrosis, also known as CF, an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system.

This is a personal mission for Ella, whose 2 brothers both have the rare disease. Although they are both currently seemingly "healthy," they require expensive medications, treatments, and doctor visits to keep the disease from progressing faster. It is a heavy weight on them, their parents, and only sister, Ella, who just wants them to live a healthy life, without the worries that come with CF.

There is currently no cure for CF, but researcher and advocates are confident that a cure is on the horizon. According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, funding and awareness is an essential ingredient to finding a cure. They are requesting support from the federal government to continue to make progress towards a cure.
