POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A high-speed alcohol-related crash in a Polk County roundabout has resulted in a felony conviction for Richard Manning, 55, of Barron, WI.

Law enforcement officers who responded to the crash observed signs of intoxication from Manning, and he refused field sobriety tests and a breath test. Manning is also facing OWI charges in Barron County Circuit Court from an incident in April 2024.

Manning appeared for a sentencing hearing in Polk County on October 30, 2025, for a conviction of operating while intoxicated from the December 2024 crash.
