POLK COUNTY -- A two-vehicle, head-on collision that occurred on STH 65 just north of the Polk/St. Croix County line in Polk County on August 31, 2019 has resulted in felony charges for Adam Weiler, 35, of Amery, WI.
DyrdenWire.com reported on September 1, 2019, that the driver of the second vehicle had been airlifted with life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from the Wisconsin State Patrol. The current condition of this individual is not known to DrydenWire.com at the time of this point.
Weiler was traveling northbound and attempted to navigate a curve, when his vehicle allegedly crossed the center line, colliding with another vehicle that was travelling southbound. According to a probable cause report from the Polk County Sheriffs’ Department, Weiler told law enforcement on the scene that he had been operating his vehicle and was alone in his vehicle, and also allegedly stated that he had consumed alcohol prior to the crash.
Law enforcement transported Weiler to Amery Hospital for medical care. At the hospital, Weiler agreed to undergo an evidentiary blood draw. Results of the testing on that blood sample are not known to DrydenWire.com at the time of this post.
Weiler is charged with Class F Felony Injury by Intoxicated Use/Vehicle, Repeater; Class H Felony Operating While Intoxicated 4th Offense; Class H Felony Operate While Intoxicated/Cause Injury 2+; Class I Felony Knowingly Operating While Revoked (Cause Great Bodily Harm); ad Misdemeanor Ignition Interlock Device Tampering/Failure to Install/Violate Court Order according to online circuit court records.

The Court placed Weiler on a $10,000 cash bail bond at a hearing on September 3, 2019. Weiler is scheduled to appear for another hearing later in September.
