BURNETT COUNTY -- A 28-year-old man from Webster, WI, is in custody and charges are pending following a report of a vehicle being shot at following an argument at a residence in Burnett County, according to a press release from Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch.

On January 17, 2023, at 8:22 a.m., Burnett County dispatch received a report that a vehicle had been shot following an argument in Lincoln Township.
It was reported that two people got into an argument at a residence. The suspect left the residence in a vehicle. The other person involved in the argument followed the suspect in their vehicle. The second individual struck the suspect’s bumper with his vehicle. The suspect leaned out of the driver’s side window and fired one gunshot into the second vehicle, striking it in the windshield. The operator of the vehicle was not injured.
Deputies and officers responded to the suspect’s residence. During the investigation, the suspect, Jacob Hooverson, 28 years of age, of Webster, WI, was taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant was conducted at Hooverson’s residence and the firearm suspected to be used in the incident was located. It had been concealed inside the residence.
A charge of First Degree Reckless Endangerment on Hooverson was forwarded to the District Attorney.
Hooverson remains in custody at the Burnett County Jail.
His bond is set at $5,000.00 cash.
