BURNETT COUNTY -- Kevin Schmidt, of Webster, has announced his candidacy as an independent for District Attorney in Burnett County. Attorney Schmidt is the current assistant district attorney in Burnett County.
“After graduation from the University of Wisconsin Law School, I began my career in the Spooner Public Defender’s Office serving Burnett County in 2016. I met my wife here and we settled down in rural Webster. After serving Burnett County for a few years, I felt I could better benefit the community with my skills by becoming a prosecutor instead. I practiced as an assistant district attorney in Polk County for around two years before the opportunity opened up to return back home to Burnett County in 2021. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to protect my community with the assistance of many other talented people ever since.”
Attorney Schmidt is a conservative who believes that integrity, honor, and hard-work are the core values that guide a successful District Attorney’s Office. Attorney Schmidt has already achieved success in the District Attorney’s Office as an assistant. Attorney Schmidt has won every jury trial he has brought to bar in the County.
