BARRON COUNTY - Local attorney Sam Lawton is excited to announce his campaign for Barron County Judge – Branch 2. Attorney Lawton serves the Barron County residents from his offices in Rice Lake and Spooner, Wisconsin.
Branch 2 in the Barron County Circuit Court sits vacant following the retirement of Hon. J. Michael Bitney. The election will be held Tuesday April 2, 2024.
As a local attorney in the private sector, Lawton has extensive experience in all types of matters that come before the court, including criminal law, family law– divorces, custody, and child support, guardianships, adoptions, etc. Standing by his clients has enabled him to understand the community’s view of the courts, the judicial process and how the law applies to facts, and the role of a Circuit Court Judge applying law to existing statutes and caselaw in each matter.
Lawton’s greatest goal as Judge is to bring transparency and understanding of the court system to the community so that the court system is not understood by the few – but the many.
Lawton looks forward to continuing the legacy of a fair, honest, effective, and efficient justice system here in Barron County.
