Drug Investigation and Search Warrant Result in 2 Arrests, 'More May Be Imminent'

RUSK COUNTY, Wis. -- Two Ladysmith men have been arrested following a drug investigation and execution of a search warrant and more arrests may be coming, according to a press release from the Rusk County Sheriff's Office.

On 07/24/2018 the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office and Ladysmith Police Department arrested James Berman (age 38) of Ladysmith after an extensive drug investigation. Berman was arrested for Delivery of Methamphetamine (10-50 grams), Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

A search warrant was conducted following this arrest at a residence associated with Berman. Adam Libbey (age 35) of Ladysmith was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

In total, over an ounce (28 grams) of methamphetamine, over 11 grams of marijuana, digital scales, methamphetamine smoking devices, marijuana smoking devices, packaging materials and items with false compartments were located during this investigation. 

This incident is still under investigation and more arrests may be imminent.
