Axe-Wielding Suspect Stopped At Rep. Sapik Father’s Residence

BRULE, WI -- On the night of March 29, 2024, a harrowing incident unfolded in our peaceful Brule, WI community. An individual, armed with both an axe and a knife, was captured on surveillance cameras lurking in the driveway of Rep. Sapik father’s home around 10:30 p.m. The swift response of law enforcement ensured the safety of our community.

Sapik Statement:

“Last night we were alerted by our remote camera that an individual was trespassing on my father’s driveway. The images show that this individual was wielding an axe and knife while walking towards my father’s residence. My family quickly called local law enforcement who promptly arrived at the scene. I am clearly concerned by these events. It is my hope that the District Attorney will file charges to strongly discourage future incidents. As this investigation moves forward, I remain confident that our community will come together and condemn such egregious actions. There should be zero tolerance of threats, violence, or intimidation.

Our community stands united against violence and criminal behavior. We commend the vigilance of our residents and the rapid action taken by law enforcement. The safety of our families is paramount, and incidents like this underscore the need for zero tolerance when it comes to dangerous individuals.
