Barron County Deputy Discovers Passed-Out Driver On Hwy A; Driver Facing 10th OWI Offense

BARRON COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A Wheeler, Wisconsin man is being held at the Barron County Jail on the charge of OWI-10th Offense, according to a press release from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, December 1, 2023, at 3:18 a.m., the Barron County 911 Center received a call of a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of a driveway south of Dallas.

A deputy arrived on scene and located a vehicle in the driving lane of Hwy A with a male passed out behind the wheel. Standard Field Sobriety tests were given and as a result of test, the driver was placed under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol -10th Offense.

The driver, Levi Lauritsen, 44 of Wheeler, is being held in the Barron County Jail on charges of OWI - 10th Offense, Operating While Revoked and a probation hold.

He is awaiting formal charges today by the Barron County District Attorney’s Office.
