BARRON COUNTY — The second of three people arrested and charged in a January 2026 Cumberland, WI, traffic stop drug bust has been sentenced in Barron County Circuit Court.
The Cumberland Police Department issued a press release about the incident during which fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana were located.
Three people were arrested and later charged: Sophie Lemieux (39), Jordan Jensen (35), and Robert Powless (40), all from the Ashland, WI, area.
SOPHIE LEMIEUX
Sophie is charged with two counts of Class I Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of Cocaine, and Misdemeanor Possession of THC. She is subject to a $2,500 signature and appeared in February 2026 while in custody for a preliminary examination hearing during which the Hon. Judge James Babler heard testimony from law enforcement and found probable cause to bind her over. She is scheduled to appear again in June 2026.
ROBERT POWLESS
Robert was charged with two counts of Class I Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs and Misdemeanor Possession of Cocaine. At a preliminary examination hearing in February 2026, Judge Babler heard testimony from law enforcement and found probable cause to bind him over.
Robert made a speedy trial demand, and a jury was scheduled for April 22, 2026; however, on April 15, 2026, Robert appeared for a hearing by video from the custody of Dodge Correctional, a Wisconsin State Prison.
Robert pleaded guilty to one count of Class I Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs. His remaining charges were dismissed and read in. Judge Babler ordered Robert to serve 1 year of incarceration with 74 days of credit for time served, followed by 1 year of extended supervision. His sentence will be served concurrently with any other sentence he is already serving.
Conditions of supervision will require Robert to undergo an alcohol and other drug assessment, as well as all evaluations and treatment recommended by the Department of Corrections, and comply with recommendations and follow-up.

JORDAN JENSEN
Jordan was charged with two counts of Class I Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Misdemeanor Possession of Cocaine, and Misdemeanor Resisting or Obstructing an Officer. He is subject to a $2,500 signature bond. He appeared most recently on April 8, 2026, while in custody, for a preliminary examination hearing. Judge Babler heard testimony from law enforcement and found probable cause to bind him over.
At a recent court hearing, Jordan appeared by video from the custody of Dodge Correctional Institution and pleaded guilty to his charge of Class I Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs. The remaining charges were dismissed but read in. The Hon. Judge Maureen Boyle ordered Jordan to serve 6 months in jail with 19 days of credit for time served. He is also ordered to pay just over $500 in court costs and fines.
Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
