Three In Custody After Multiple Barron County Burglaries

On or around October 30-31, 2016, the Rice Lake Police Department took reports of burglaries at the following four locations in the city where a significant amount of property was taken and damage was caused:

  • Nancy’s Northside Restaurant – 930 Haugen Avenue
  • Maranatha Evangelical Church – 3340 S Main Street
  • Bud’s Tool and Party Rental – 1905 Kern Avenue
  • Thyme Worn Treasures – 30 N Main Street

In the same time period the Barron Sheriff’s Department took reports of several burglaries where property and damage was caused:

  • Bona Casa
  • Anderson Dairy
  • Mommsen’s Produce Patch
  • Skate City

On Thursday, November 10, 2016 a Rice Lake Police Department Investigator and a Barron County Sheriff’s Department Detective determined three subjects have been involved in the aforementioned burglaries. These subjects are identified as Kurt Zurn, Austin Kuhrt and Jodeci Thompson-Warfield all 18 and from Rice Lake. All three suspects are cooperating with law enforcement. Most of the stolen property has been recovered and no other individuals are being sought for questioning at this time.

These cases are being referred to the Barron County District Attorney’s office for formal charges.
