BARRON COUNTY — A Barron County man has been sentenced following a lengthy domestic abuse investigation that escalated from restraining order violations to allegations of non-consensual sexually explicit recordings and sexual assault.
According to the criminal complaint filed against him, Tyler Crotteau (43), of Rice Lake, WI, first came under investigation in December 2023 after the victim reported to the Rice Lake Police Department that she feared him and had been living in her vehicle to avoid contact with him.
Authorities say the investigation later uncovered repeated violations of a domestic abuse injunction, including persistent text messages, explicit communications, and unwanted contact despite prior court action.
Crotteau was sentenced during a recent Barron County Court hearing.
