BARRON COUNTY -- 2017 was an unbelievable year for the Sheriff's Department and while you will see a reduction in some categories our major cases and drug issues consumed much of our time. From the tornado, plane crash, double murder/suicide and the finding of human remains along with many other cases we hat it all.
On things that remained consistent was the effort and work put out by the members of this Sheriff's Department. No matter the time of day or day of the week, they left their families, holidays and their own houses damaged by the storm to help others.
More importantly, they all went home at the end of all this.
While it was busy, I could not be more proud of the work they did and the support received from the public during these events.
We look forward to a less exciting 2018 as we continue to work on the drug issue and make sure Barron County residents are safe!
Per Chris Fitzgerald, Barron County Sheriff.
