(Press Release) Barron County's newest K-9 Koda hits the street. K-9 Robbie retired from our department on November 23, 2016, aftera long and successful career with both the Rice Lake Police Department and the Barron County Sheriff's Department.
Robbie served the Rice Lake Police Department under Officer Roux for 2 years. When Roux was named Police Chief, Robbie was given to handler Mike Carroll and served the citizens of Rice Lake for 4 more years. Carroll then came to the Sheriff's Department with Robbie where he served over 1 more year until November 23, 2016. Robbie will remain with Deputy Carroll.
Koda was sworn in on November 24, 2016, and is the newest member of the Sheriff's Department. Koda is a Dutch Sheppard and is certified in Narcotics, Apprehension and Search and Rescue and serces with Deputy Carroll.
