NORTHWEST WISCONSIN — DrydenWire.com founder Ben Dryden and Emily Gall, founder of North of Eight Design & Marketing, kicked off what may become a new monthly series with their first-ever live co-hosted show on Thursday morning, June 5, 2025.
Streaming live on DrydenWire’s Facebook page, the hour-long show delivered exactly what was promised: a lively, unscripted, and entertaining conversation on everything from county government insights to quirky personal opinions, peppered with plenty of laughter and candid moments along the way.
Ben and Emily, both currently serving as first-term County Board Supervisors—Ben in Washburn County and Emily in Burnett County—reflected on their first year in office. They shared what they’ve learned, discussed the challenges they’ve faced, and spoke honestly about what kind of impact they believe they’ve had.
The show took a turn into current political topics, including a thoughtful discussion on Wisconsin’s gubernatorial line-item veto power and the idea of term limits for elected officials. The duo debated which positions might benefit from changes, whether limits should be defined by years or number of terms, and even whether a forced retirement age might make sense in public service.
In a fun legislative twist, Ben and Emily played a game of “Sign or Veto,” considering how they’d vote on a hypothetical bill that would ban all flags except the U.S. and State flags from flying on state buildings.
But perhaps the most entertaining segment came when the pair shared their “Unpopular Opinions”—and they didn’t hold back.
The show wrapped up with a lighthearted “Song of the Day” segment, with each co-host sharing a favorite tune and the reason behind their pick.
With strong audience engagement and a natural chemistry between the hosts, Ben and Emily hinted that this could become a recurring monthly series. Viewer feedback is encouraged, and comments and questions submitted during the live stream added a fun, interactive layer to the conversation.
