WASHBURN COUNTY — Charges against a second suspect in a Washburn County February 2026 violent stabbing incident outside Big Dick’s Buckhorn Bar in Spooner, Wisconsin, have been dismissed.
The incident stemmed from an early-morning fight that escalated into a stabbing, leaving the victim with multiple wounds, including a severed artery in his torso that required emergency medical treatment.
Christian Beach-Mattison (23) of Spooner, WI, and Kenneth Thompson (31) of Minong, WI, were both arrested and later charged with felony aggravated battery following the incident. A court hearing is scheduled for Christian in August 2026 as his case proceeds in Washburn County Circuit Court.
Kenneth’s charges were dismissed by the Court following a Motion filed by Washburn County District Attorney Aaron Marcoux.
