Chetek Man Sentenced On Meth Charges Following Guilty Verdict By Jury

BARRON COUNTY --  The Court has sentenced a Chetek, WI man on multiple charges including possession of amphetamine with intent following the jury’s verdict of guilty earlier this year.

DrydenWire previously published a press release in December 2017 from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office after Quinlan Thomas, of Chetek, WI was arrested on meth charges following a lengthy law enforcement investigation during which confidential informants purchased methamphetamine from Thomas on multiple occasions. Barron County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Chetek Realty, LLC, and took Thomas into custody.

Charges of Class F Felony Manufacture or Deliver Amphetamine were filed against Thomas. Online circuit court records show that Thomas was already facing methamphetamine-related charges in two additional criminal cases filed against him in circuit court.

In January 2021, DrydenWire published another press release from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office which stated that Thomas had been arrested again along with another person while law enforcement was executing a search warrant as part of an investigation into the theft of a trailer containing an estimate $40,000 worth of equipment.

In April 2021 Thomas was found guilty by a jury on a charge of Class F Felony Possess With Intent-Amphetamine (<=3g) that stemmed from an offense date in December 2018.

At a recent hearing, the Court sentenced Thomas on convictions for Class F Felony Possess With Intent-Amphetamine (<=3g); Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine; Class H Felony Bail Jumping; and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia from charges filed against him in two separate criminal cases in Barron County Circuit Court.

Online circuit court records show that the Court ordered prison sentences; imposed and stayed; for Thomas on his felony convictions, with 3 years of probation. Should Thomas be revoked from probation, online records indicate that he will be facing over 5 years of initial confinement in state prison followed by over 5 years of extended supervision.

Conditions of probation will require Thomas to complete any and all evaluations, counseling, treatment, and follow-up recommended by his Probation Agent to include alcohol and other drug assessment.

Thomas is still facing criminal charges of Class E Felony Possess w/ Intent-Amphetamine(>3-10g); Class H Felony Bail Jump; and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia in one pending Barron County Circuit Court case that was filed against him shortly after his arrest in January 2021. A jury trial is scheduled for August 2021 regarding that case.
