RUSK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A case charging neglect of a child and failure to act to protect has been dismissed in Rusk County Circuit Court.
Danielle Leisner and Josiah Leisner each received criminal charges following an investigation by Rusk County authorities into allegations that Josiah had sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 multiple times, and that Danielle was aware and did not intervene.
On October 14, 2025, a Rusk County jury acquitted Josiah of the sexual assault charge against him. The remaining charges against him were dismissed.
At a hearing on October 21, 2025, the charges against Danielle were also dismissed.
