WISCONSIN — ClearSky Health recently broke ground for a new 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital, ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Eau Claire, which will be located near 4911 Bullis Farm Road in Eau Claire, Wis.
The hospital will provide specialized rehabilitative care to about 650 patients annually, offering services to individuals recovering from disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other medically-complex conditions.
"We’re excited to partner with the Eau Claire community to provide these much-needed services," says Michael Warrington, President of ClearSky Health. "There’s currently a gap in inpatient rehabilitative care here, and we’re proud to help fill that need. Our mission is to help patients maximize their recoveries, regain independence and quality of life, and return as quickly as possible back to their homes and activities that they enjoy.”
Services offered at ClearSky Eau Claire will stand out from other rehabilitation programs, providing a comprehensive level of care available exclusively through medical rehabilitation hospitals.
Patients will receive individualized treatment from a physician-led interdisciplinary healthcare team that includes physical, occupational, and speech therapists; rehabilitative nurses; case managers; respiratory therapists; dietitians; and other healthcare professionals.
"ClearSky Health brings unparalleled expertise and knowledge in rehabilitation,” says Emily Berge, Eau Claire City Council President. “Through their work at the new hospital, we’ll be able to significantly improve the lives of our residents by offering a higher level of specialized care locally. Patients and their families can remain close to home while receiving care, helping to reduce the logistical, financial, and emotional challenges that come with traveling to another city for treatment.”
A national study shows that patients treated at medical rehabilitation hospitals like ClearSky Eau Claire:
- Return home sooner
- Remain home longer
- Have fewer hospital readmissions and ER visits
- Live longer
The new hospital will feature all private rooms with ADA-compliant bathrooms, a rehabilitative gym with specialized equipment, an outside therapeutic courtyard, a dining room with a dedicated chef, and an activity of daily living space designed to simulate home environments.
“We truly want to thank ClearSky Health for recognizing an opportunity and need in our community and stepping forward to fulfill it,” says David Minor, President & CEO of the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce. "When you consider the more than 650 patients a year who now will receive rehabilitative services here, and the 100 family-supporting jobs the hospital will create, it’s remarkable. We look forward to a strong, long-term partnership.”
Construction currently is underway, with ClearSky Eau Claire expected to open in late 2026.
