Last Day to Register for Community Leadership Day this Thursday

REGISTRATION IS OPEN UNTIL 4P TODAY, MONDAY, APRIL 23, 2018.

WASHBURN COUNTY -- If you’re looking to network, brush up on your time management, marketing, leadership, communication and many other skills, be sure to mark April 26th on your calendar. The Leadership Washburn County program will hold a one-day leadership program at the Shell Lake Community Center on Thursday, April 26th from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The event is open to business leaders, employees, non-profit volunteers and individuals. Registration is required by Friday, April 20th and includes a locally-flavored lunch from The Roost of Sarona. 

The day kicks off with keynote speaker, Dave Zebro, Regional Warden Supervisor with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Zebro’s presentation on what it takes to be a great leader and to have pride in your community is sure to be a great one. The remainder of the day offers a variety of six breakout sessions to choose from. Here’s the lineup:

Breakout Session 1:

  • Business Communication: Cindy Gibson, Communications Instructor, WITC
  • Time Management: Danette Hopke, Educator, UW-Extension

Breakout Session 2:

  • Marketing Panel: 
    • Planning & Budgeting: Jena Vogtman, Director of Marketing, WITC
    • Photo & Video in Marketing: Michelle Martin, Executive Director, Washburn County Tourism Association
    • Website Analytics Basics: Adam Nelson, Learning Resource Center Technician, WITC
  • Fun Delivered: The Basics of Customer Service: Julie Fox, Regional Tourism Specialist, Wisconsin Department of Tourism

  • Social Media Marketing Panel
    • Michelle Martin, Executive Director, Washburn County Tourism Association
    • Cara Walters, Public Relations Director, Spooner Health
    • Addie Erdmann, Executive Director, Spooner Area Chamber of Commerce
    • Xan Nelson, Operations Manager, The Dock Coffee & Round Man Brewing
  • Broadband & Economic Development Panel
    • Joel Zimmerman, Executive Director, Washburn County Economic Development Corporation
    • Paul Kostner, Broadband Academy Program Director, WITC
