POLK COUNTY — Felony charges for sexual assault of a child are proceeding in Polk County Circuit Court against a man who is already serving a lengthy Wisconsin prison sentence for a conviction of sexually assaulting a child in Price County.
Charges were filed in Polk County against Michael Wheeler, Sr. (55) in May 2026, alleging that Wheeler sexually assaulted a child under the age of 16. Wheeler made his first court appearance in June 2026, while in custody.
