Convicted Sex Offender To Be Released In Chippewa County

CHIPPEWA COUNTY -- A convicted sex offender will be released in Chippewa County on December 17, 2019, and will reside at the Bloomer Hotel until a residence can be established for Daniel Skellenger, according to a press release from the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office.

(Press Release) -- The Chippewa County Sex Offender Notification Committee has determine that a Level 3 notification would be undertaken in regard to the community placement of convicted sex offender Daniel G Skellenger, Skellenger will be released from the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections on December 17th 2019.  Daniel Skellenger will return to Chippewa County where he is required to reside. At this time Skellenger will live in the Bloomer Hotel until a residence is established.

Daniel Skellenger has been convicted of possession of child pornography WI. State Stat: 948.12(1m) 6 counts. Daniel Skellenger has served time imposed on him by the courts and will be supervised by the Department of Corrections.  Skellenger conditions of supervision will prohibit him from any unsupervised contact with minors. Skellenger is restricted from being on the property of any schools, parks or day care centers unsupervised. Skellenger is not to consume alcohol or drugs. Skellenger is to comply with standard sex offender rules; he will be placed on electronic monitoring (GPS) and is a lifetime registrant of Wisconsin Sex Offender Registration Program.
