BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) - The court has accepted a guilty plea to a firearms charge in a Burnett County case stemming from an armed standoff incident. Joseph Berg, age 38, of River Falls, WI, was facing charges in both Burnett County and Polk County for multiple firearm and drug-related crimes. He was sentenced in July 2025 on convictions from his Polk County case.
Charges were filed in Burnett County against Berg following a call for assistance because Berg was outside a residence with an AR-15 style rifle. After taking Berg into custody, law enforcement located the AR-15, loaded with a 45-round clip. A second clip containing 45 rounds was also found. Berg’s case is now scheduled for a sentencing hearing.
