A Siren, WI man charged with Burglary and Theft appeared in Burnett County Circuit Court on July 24, 2017, and made a request for a Bail Bond modification which was denied by the Court.

Public record shows that Douglas Krueger, of Siren, WI, is charged with 2 Counts of Class F Felony Burglary, 2 Counts of Misdemeanor Theft, and Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property.

The criminal complaint filed against Krueger states that on May 20, 2017, Krueger borrowed a vehicle from someone telling the vehicle owner that he needed to retrieve some of his property. Instead, Krueger allegedly went to Lot #44 of the Siren Trailer Park and kicked in the back door to the both the house and the garage.

The Siren Police Department responded to the report of the break-in. The victims of the break-in stated that they had been working on Lot #44 getting it ready for resale and reported the following items as stolen:

  • Milwaukee Sawzall
  • Huskavara Blower
  • 60” TV

A call was received by the Siren Police Department on May 22, 2017, from one of the victims, who stated that all property had been returned, however, they wished to still pursue criminal charges against the individual who had taken the items. It was also reported to the Siren Police Department at that time that the manager of the Siren Trailer Park had found out that the individual responsible for the break-in was Douglas Krueger.

During follow-up interviews, Siren Police Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle which Krueger used. When Krueger returned with the vehicle, he had 2 TV's in the vehicle. Although Krueger reportedly stated that the smaller of the 2 TV's belonged to him, the larger TV was allegedly determined to be stolen.

The Siren Trailer Park manager reportedly assisted with finding out that Krueger had stolen property from Lot #44, as well as assisting with getting the property back to the owners.

On May 24, 2017, Krueger appeared in Burnett County Circuit Court for a bail bond hearing and was placed on a $2,500 signature bond. Charges were filed against Krueger on June 5, 2017. After he failed to appear for his Initial Court Appearance on June 14, 2017, the Court issued a warrant for his arrest.

Krueger appeared again on July 10 and the warrant was canceled and he was placed on a $150 cash bond. A Preliminary Examination Hearing was held on July 24 and Krueger appeared while in custody. Public record indicates that the Court found good cause for the State's Criminal case.

At the July 24 court hearing, Krueger also requested a bail bond modification. According to public record, the reason stated for the modification was to allow Krueger to go to treatment. The modification was denied by the Court.

If convicted of all his charges, Krueger could face a maximum penalty of a total of nearly 26 years confinement in State Prison according to the penalties listed in the Wisconsin State Legislature penalties.

Krueger is set to appear again on July 31, 2017.
