Court Orders Gordon Woman to Serve Conditional Jail Time for Conviction of 5th OWI

A Gordon, WI woman has been ordered to serve probation with conditional jail time for her conviction of 5th Offense Operating While Intoxicated.

DrydenWire.com previously reported that Susan Krings, of Gordon, WI,  was charged in Douglas County Circuit Court following an incident on January 11, 2018.

Online circuit court records show that Krings appeared on September 17, 2018 for a plea/sentencing hearing. The Court accepted Krings plea of guilty to her charge of OWI 5. An additional charge of Misdemeanor Operate While Revoked was dismissed.

The Court ordered 3 years of probation and 6 months of conditional jail time with eligibility for Huber privileges for work and treatment. Krings was also ordered to undergo an alcohol assessment.

A Gordon, WI woman is facing charges of 5th offense Operating While Intoxicated in Douglas County Circuit Court.

Online circuit court records show that Susan Krings, of Gordon, WI, has been charged in Douglas County Circuit Court with Class G Felony 5th offense OWI following on incident on January 11, 2018.

Krings is also charged with Misdemeanor Operating While Revoked and the Wisconsin State Patrol also cited her for Possessing Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle.

The maximum penalty for 5th OWI is imprisonment for no more than 10 years, a fine of $25,000, or both.

At a bail bond hearing on January 12, 2018, Krings was placed on a $1,500 cash bail bond. Krings appeared in Douglas County Circuit Court on January 24, 2018, and entered a waiver of her preliminary examination hearing.

Krings remains in the custody of the Douglas County Jail at the time of this post and is due back in court in April 2018.

Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Susan M Krings, 55 years of age, from Gordon has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 5th offense.

A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper stopped to assist a vehicle that had stopped on the shoulder of US 53 near Lynch Road. After making contact with the female driver it was discovered that she had been drinking. The driver, Susan Krings of Gordon, was arrested for 5th offense OWI. She was transported to St. Marys Hospital in Superior for a blood test and then turned over to the Douglas County Jail.
