August Schmidt of Springbrook, WI, has been sentenced to probation in Washburn County Circuit Court for his conviction of Class F Felony Manufacture/Deliver THC/Marijuana (>2500-10,000 g).
On August 31, 2017, the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office issued a News Release stating that August Schmidt had been arrested in conjunction with the execution of a search warrant at his property located in the Township of Springbrook.
During the search warrant, investigators discovered 114 marijuana plants growing in the surrounding woods and in the residence. Charges of Class F Felony Manufacture/Deliver THC (>2500-10,000g), Class I Felony Possession of THC (2nd+ Offense), and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia were filed against Schmidt on September 15, 2017.
Online circuit court records show that after several court hearings, on July 24, 2018, Schmidt appeared regarding his charges and entered a plea of No Contest to his charge of Class F Felony Manufacture/Deliver THC/Marijuana (>2500-10,000 g). The Court accepted Schmidt’s plea and found him guilty. The other charges filed against Schmidt were dismissed but read in.
At his sentencing hearing on September 17, 2018, the Court ordered 5 years of probation for Schmidt, with conditions that he not consume any alcohol, or possess or consume any controlled substances unless prescribed.
The Court also ordered Schmidt to serve 45 days in county jail.
