BURNETT COUNTY — The Court has sentenced Dylan Mccarthy, 27, formerly of Spooner, WI, who was arrested and charged following a tense encounter with law enforcement in August 2025 that led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl and raised concerns about the welfare of a newborn child.
Charges were also filed against Savahna Vanderbeek, 25. She appeared on March 9, 2026, and was sentenced on convictions from her case.
Mccarthy pleaded guilty to a reduced charge and was sentenced on his conviction during a May 28, 2026, Burnett County Circuit Court hearing.
