Court Sentences Man On Marijuana Charges; Sexual Assault Charges Dropped

WASHBURN COUNTY — A man has been sentenced on Felony marijuana charges in Washburn County Circuit Court; the charges of sexual assault that were also filed against him have been dropped.

DrydenWire.com previously reported in August 2019 that Brandon Miller, of Hayward, WI was charged with sexual assault of a woman that he met through a dating app.

Miller met the woman in July 2019, and following their meeting, the woman contacted Law Enforcement alleging that she had been sexually assaulted by Miller.

An investigation ensued, and a search warrant was executed at Miller’s residence where Law Enforcement located numerous items of drug paraphernalia were located including 2 scales, multiple vape cartridges, multiple glass smoking pipes, and 2 bongs as well as over 40 grams of marijuana, and 2 grams of marijuana wax.

Online circuit court records show that the charges of sexual assault that were filed against Miller were later dropped, and at a hearing on December 19, 2019, Miller was sentenced regarding the Marijuana related charges.

The Court ordered a withheld sentence for Miller, with 3 years of probation. Conditions of Miller’s probation will require him to maintain absolute sobriety and comply with any other conditions imposed by the Department of Corrections including undergoing any assessments and evaluations deemed appropriate and following through with any therapy as recommended.
