BURNETT COUNTY — A months-long investigation into a suspected clandestine DMT operation inside a former Grantsburg, WI, bar building, where authorities discovered a suspected DMT extraction operation, and seized methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms, drug paraphernalia, has concluded with the sentencing of the second defendant.
Zachary Chaffee (37) and Laura Chamberlin (53) were charged following a March 2025 eviction from the former Red Stag Saloon building, where investigators from multiple agencies, including the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and the DEA, later executed a search warrant that uncovered a drug laboratory inside.
Chamberlin was sentenced in February 2026, and Chaffee was sentenced during a recent court hearing on his convictions.
