WASHBURN COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced a Spooner, WI man for a firearm incident that occurred near a motel in Spooner, WI.
DrydenWire.com reported in August 2020, that Nathan Kast, of Spooner, WI, was facing criminal charges following an incident during which Kast allegedly fired a gun multiple times near a motel in Spooner, WI. The incident was captured on motel surveillance video; Kast was taken into custody a short time later, and the firearm was found behind the motel.
Charges of Class F Felony First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Misdemeanor Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated, Misdemeanor Discharge Firearm Within 100 Yards of a Building, and Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct were filed against Kast.
Online circuit court records show that at a hearing on September 15, 2020, Kast entered pleas of No Contest to his charges of Misdemeanor Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated, Misdemeanor Discharge Firearm Within 100 Yards of a Building, and Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct. The Court ordered a withheld sentence for Kast; 3 years of probation on each count; to be served concurrently.
The Court also accepted a 3-year Deferred Entry of Judgment Agreement regarding Kast’s charge of Class F Felony First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.
Kast will be required to complete AODA counseling, follow any recommendations made by the Department of Corrections, and maintain absolute sobriety.
