The New Bivalent Covid-19 Vaccine Is Available In Washburn County

WASHBURN COUNTY -- The new Bivalent COVID-19 vaccine is available in Washburn County.

The Bivalent COVID-19 vaccines are expected to provide increased protection against the currently circulating omicron variant.

Who can get the Bivalent vaccine:

  • Individuals 18 years of age and older are eligible for a single booster dose of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent if it has been at least two months since they have completed primary vaccination or have received the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved monovalent COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Individuals 12 years of age and older are eligible for a single booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent if it has been at least two months since they have completed primary vaccination or have received the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved monovalent COVID-19 vaccine.

Where:

The Washburn County Health Dept. is sponsoring AMI COVID vaccine clinics this month on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 12-4. The Health Dept. is located on the 2nd floor of the Washburn County Services Building at 304 2nd Street in Shell Lake. October dates may be similar, but check for updates on the Washburn County website. Appointments are advised, particularly if you want Moderna, as it will initially be in shorter supply.
